All songs created through Chantory are original works, written and produced based on client-submitted information. By default, Chantory retains full copyright ownership of:
The composition (lyrics and melody)
The sound recording (master)
This means Chantory holds the legal rights to the music — including the right to reproduce, distribute, and license the work.
Upon purchase and delivery, the client is granted a non-transferable, lifetime personal-use license, which allows them to:
Share the song privately or on social media
Play it at personal events (weddings, birthdays, memorials, etc.)
Use it in non-commercial videos, slideshows, and personal content
This license does not allow resale, redistribution, or public monetization.
If a client wishes to:
Use the song in a paid ad
Include it in monetized YouTube content
Upload to music platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
Sell physical/digital versions
They must request a Commercial Use License. Pricing and terms vary depending on the intended use.
Contact: licensing@chantory.com for requests.
By submitting a song request, you acknowledge and agree:
That Chantory retains copyright
That you are granted a limited license for personal use
That you will not reproduce, sell, or distribute the song for profit without written permission
In select cases, clients may request a complete transfer of copyright, giving them full legal ownership of the work (composition + master). This is subject to an additional fee and written contract.
